Installing SAU Certificate Authority into Internet Explorer 7 

If you have not installed the SAU Secure Certificate for Internet Explorer 7 you will receive the follow error when trying to view SAU secure websites.
If you do not wish to install the SAU Secure Certificate for Internet Explorer 7 you can click on "Continue to this website (not recommended).  This will allow Internet Explorer to display the SAU secure website.  You will notice that this will cause Internet Explorer 7 to display a certificate error.  Please know that even though Internet Explorer 7 displays this error the site is secure.
To install the SAU Secure Certificate, navigate to the Information Technology website at http://infotech.sau.edu.  Select "Network Services" from the menu on the left hand side.  Select "SAU Secure Web Certificate" from the list.  Click on "Install Certificate"
You will give a choice to open or save the file.  Select "Save"
Select "Desktop" from the "Save in" Drop down box and click on "Save".
Close all applications and double click on the SauSecure icon that you saved to your desktop.
You will receive a security warning asking how you would like to proceed.  Click on "Open"
You will receive a warning that this Certificate is not trusted.  Click on "Install Certificate"
The Certificate Import Wizard will now appear.  Click on "Next" to continue.
Click the radio button next to "Place all certificates in the following store" and click the "Browse" button.
Click on the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" to highlight it and then click on "OK"
Verify the information is set as seen in the image.  Click "Next" to continue.
Select "Finish"
A security warning will appear.  Verify the Thumbprint is correct and select "Yes" to continue.
Click "Ok" to continue
To verify the installation was correctly installed.  Open Internet Explorer 7 and open "Internet Options"  (Alt+T then O) Select the "Content" tab at the top of the window and select "Certificates"
Click on the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" and scroll down the list.  You should see "Sau Secure Certificate" in the list.  If you do not see this in the list, please start the import process again.  Click on "Close" and then "OK"
To test new certificate, type http://mail.sau.edu in the connect to bar and hit "Enter".  The Sau Email Web Access page should appear without any warnings and an icon of a padlock will be displayed. 

This Certificate is good for any secure websites at SAU.
