Cleaning Up Your
Mailbox
1. Right click on Outlook Today – [Mailbox –
Your name]

2.
Click on the folder size button

The next screen will tell you what folder is
using the most space.
You
have two choices when cleaning up the folders.
You can delete the messages or move the messages
to your Personal folders.
Outlook Today Folders – these folders reside
on the SAU exchange server and store all of your
incoming and outgoing messages. The names of
these folders can not be changed. You are
allowed 20 mgs of space and will be notified by
email when you have reached the maximum. Don’t
panic, it is just a warning and your email will
still work.
Personal Folders – these folders reside on a
completely different server and do not count
against the total space you are allowed to use
on the mail server.
Using Folders
1.
Make sure you have Personal folders. If the list
of folders isn’t visible click Folder List from
the Views menu. (Call Linda if they don’t
exist.)

To Create
New Folders (under Personal Folders)
1.
Click on
Personal Folders to select it as the point
to create a new subfolder.
2.
From the
File menu select New and click
Folder. Type the name of the folder
in the Name box and click OK.
You should
create folders for each class or area of
responsibility. This allows easy retrieval of
messages based on the topic of the message. Be
reasonable with the number of folders you
create, one for each student would be a little
much.
To Place
Items Into Folders
1.
Click and hold on the message you wish to
move into the folder and drag the message over
until the folder is highlighted. Release the
mouse button.
