Drives
We have created an area for
students to save files for class!! Each student
has 50MB of space to save documents and files,
and these files are able to be accessed not only
from the SAU labs, but anywhere in the world.
There are two ways with
which you can access your files from your home
directory.
The first way to access your files is to
use internet explorer.
To do this you have to have a version of
Internet Explorer that is 5.5 or newer. The next steps will help you to connect to your online
directory and give you access to your files.
Step 1:
Open up Internet Explorer
Step 2:
Type in ftp://username@stuhome.sau.edu
Here is an example of your username
mh8888888
Step 3:
After hitting enter a popup window will
appear and it will ask you to enter your
password. Enter
your password and it will take you to your
folder containing your files. Also,
make sure where it says user name it says
ambrose/username.
Step 4:
Now when you see a bunch of folders find the one
that has your username on it and double click to
get to your files.
The other way to access
your files is via a FTP program which allows you
to upload and download files from your
directory. WS_FTP
is the standard FTP program used for PC and
Fetch for Mac’s.
Directions for using a client FTP
